The thermal expansion rate of plastic is more than 10 times that of metal. The heat dissipation of plastic parts is slower than that of metal, and the softening (melting) temperature of plastic parts is much lower than that of metal. Therefore, engineers should take measures to prevent workpiece deformation during machining.

- Selection of coolant for machining plastic parts
