The thermal expansion rate of plastic is more than 10 times that of metal. The heat dissipation of plastic parts is slower than that of metal, and the softening (melting) temperature of plastic parts is much lower than that of metal. Therefore, engineers should take measures to prevent workpiece deformation during machining.
The increase of feed rate and milling speed also shortens the milling time, and due to the improvement of heat dissipation conditions, it is worth noting that the increase of CNC milling speed of plastic will increase the temperature. According to the statistics of engineers, the cutting speed will increase by 10%, and the surface temperature of plastic parts will increase by about 14% - 30%.
